Ron Graetz was an Aviation Radioman and TBD rear-seat gunner in VT-6 aboard USS Enterprise (CV-6).  He was not selected to fly on the squadron’s disastrous first mission at Midway, but he did volunteer for the second one on June 6th when the task force’s last three TBDs were sent against Mogami and Mikuma.  For a dramatic painting and narrative of that flight on John Greave’s web site, click here.  He also wrote a unique article for us on officer-enlisted relationships among aircrews, which you can read here .
